DIY giant B&Q has reopened the doors of the two stores nearest to Hammersmith & Fulham.

B&Q has reopened 155 across the country, including Chiswick Roundabout and Western Avenue in Acton.

The chain says that strict social distancing measures are in place in all the stores that have been reopened, with two metre floor markers throughout and Perspex screens at checkout.

The retailer has temporarily stopped services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting and is only accepting card and contactless payments.

Opening times at most stores ate from 8am until 5pm, although the chain says operating hours may vary at inidvidual branches.

Homebase has also begun opening stores in a trial basis, including Fulham's nearest store just across the river in Wandsworth.

It is open from 10am till 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am till 4pm on Sunday, with strict controls in place to ensure shopping is safe for everyone.

The store says:

  • We will be allowing a maximum number of 30 people into our stores at any given time.
  • Please shop alone where ever possible to help us serve the maximum number of customers.
  • Always stay 2 meters from any other person.
  • Payment is by card only.
  • Sorry we are currently unable to accept any returns in store and will extended our returns policy.
  • Our team will unfortunately not be able to support you in getting your items in to your car.
