Covid Secure Shakespeare at Fulham Palace

Immersive and interactive theatre experience inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream

Part of the grounds of Fulham Palace is to be given over to allow a theatrical experience inspired by William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to take place.

The immersive, interactive and COVID-safe production was given the go ahead as the evidence suggests outdoor performances are the least risky and audiences are yearning for an alternative to virtual experiences.

Titiana’s Dream is to be performed between 20 May and 6 June and the aim will be to transform a part of the park into an enchanted forest.

Even if there is a rollback in the loosening of Covid restrictions and a return to the rule of 6 the production will go ahead.

The site-specific event is designed as a way-in for parents and teachers to introduce elements of the play in a fun and educational way.

As creative director Charlie Cridlan explains, “We have been living an un-real existence for over a year and now, more than ever, we have realised the importance of the outdoors and the part human connection plays in our well-being”.
