A fire broke out this Friday morning (5 February) on a leisure boat moored at the Imperial Marina Wharf in Fulham.

Half of the main deck of the boat was damaged by fire. Thankfully no one was injured but sadly two cats died on board.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers tackled the blaze. The Brigade was called at 11.15am and the fire was under control by 11.50pm. Lambeth River boat crew alongside firefighters from Fulham, Chelsea, Clapham, Kensington, Hammersmith and Sutton were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Station Manager Andy Walton said, “The fire boat was instrumental in our ability to fight this fire due to the location of the leisure boat. Having it meant we were able to pump water directly from the Thames and bring it under control quickly.”
