Boots Departs from North End Road on Sunday

Pharmacy is latest in a series of closures to hit Fulham

Boots North End Road

The long established branch of Boots at 322 North End Road shuts its doors for the last time this Sunday, 29 March.

It follows the departure last year of Boots Opticians on the other side of the road, and is the latest in a series of closures to hit Fulham.

Other nearby losses in recent months have included Ryness at 413 North End Road, Gianluca's cafe in Jerdan Place and Fulham Broadway's Italian gelato shop Amorino, which left a message on the door saying simply: "Grazie e arrivederci".

Fulham's Currys PC World with Carphone Warehouse store by Wandsworth Bridge also closed at the end of February to make way for the site to be redeveloped.

The closure of this small branch of Boots has been long expected, as it has looked increasingly run down and neglected, and a poster in the window redirects customers to the much larger branch within Fulham Broadway shopping centre.

However, it is ironic that it shutting during the current crisis, as one of North End Road's "essential" pharmacies.

As well as Superdrug, a number of independent pharmacies are still open including North End Pharmacy at 100a North End Road and Parmay Pharmacy at 160, both at the northern end of the road in W14.

Further south there is Chana Chemist at 402 North End Road, on the corner of Dawes Road and Oza Chemist at 9 Fulham Broadway.
